Chelmsford Police Respond to Crash on Route 40

CHELMSFORD — Chief Colin Spence reports that the Chelmsford Police Department responded to a serious crash on Route 40 on Wednesday afternoon.

CHELMSFORD — Chief Colin Spence reports that the Chelmsford Police Department responded to a serious crash on Route 40 on Wednesday afternoon.

On Wednesday, Oct. 2, at approximately 1:50 p.m., the Chelmsford Police and Fire Departments were called to Route 40 at the onramp to Route 3 south for a report of a crash.

First responders arrived to find a collision between a dump truck and a motorcycle.

The operator of the motorcycle was flown to a regional trauma center with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by Chelmsford Police with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
