CANTON — Town Administrator Charles Doody and the Sustainability and Climate Action Plan Committee invite residents to attend upcoming community information sessions and to participate in the Climate Action Plan (CAP) survey.

CANTON — Town Administrator Charles Doody and the Sustainability and Climate Action Plan Committee invite residents to attend upcoming community information sessions and to participate in the Climate Action Plan (CAP) survey.

The Town of Canton’s CAP Committee is hosting two information sessions to allow residents to provide input and learn about the status of the CAP process.

Community Sessions:

  • Friday, Oct. 4, from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. at the Senior Center, 500 Pleasant St.
  • Thursday, Oct. 17, from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Canton Public Library’s Community Room, 786 Washington St.

These sessions are designed to raise awareness and educate the community on issues like pollution and extreme weather challenges that directly impact Canton. The Committee hopes to gather feedback to make the plan more inclusive and effective for the community.

Residents’ participation will help shape the final plan and build support for its approval at the 2025 Annual Town Meeting.

There will be refreshments and snacks available for attendees.

On Oct. 1, the Committee will launch a community survey to gather residents’ and business owners’ input on the CAP.

Residents are encouraged to complete the survey to be adequately informed about the details of the current plans. The survey will close on Oct. 31. A set of descriptions is available to assist residents in completing the survey.

To participate, please click the link above to access the survey online. Residents may also pick up a hard copy of the survey, which will be available at the Canton Public Library, the Town of Canton Planner’s Office and the Senior Center. They can also be printed from the Town’s Climate Action Plan website.

Residents can contact TJ Torres at the Town Planning Department with any questions. He can be reached by email at ttorres@town.canton.ma.us or by phone at 781-575-6575.
