SUDBURY — Police Chief Scott Nix and Fire Chief John Whalen report that the Sudbury Police and Fire Departments responded Tuesday when a crane rolled onto its side while it was being used to assist tree trimming.

On Tuesday, Oct. 1, at approximately 1:04 p.m., the Sudbury Police and Fire Departments were called to a property on Sycamore Road for a report that a crane tipped over.

Companies arrived to find a small crane that was being used to assist tree trimming on its side. The only occupant of the vehicle got out on his own, and was transported to a local hospital with injuries that are believed to be minor.

Sudbury Firefighters checked the area for hazardous material leaks, but found none.

First responders are remaining on scene while the U.S. Occupational Health and Safety Administration is called to the scene to investigate. The crane will be removed from the area later.
