ACTON — Town Manager John Mangiaratti, Community Services Coordinator Laura Ducharme, and Health and Family Services Director Penelope Funaiole would like to announce the final round of funding for the Town of Acton’s Emergency Assistance Program.
The Town’s Emergency Assistance Program was launched in early 2023. Through this program, Acton households with short-term financial assistance for emergency needs can use grant funding from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). The program is also designed to provide emergency assistance for rent, mortgage, utilities and child care.
Income guidelines for this program are based on 65 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI) as determined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the Boston-Cambridge-Quincy HUD FMR Area.
Applications will be accepted beginning Sept. 16 through Sept. 20. Priority will be given to applicants who have not received assistance in the past. However, the Town reserves the right to alter that basis for exigent circumstances.
Applications can be filled out online here. Alternatively, applicants can contact the Community Services Office to receive a hard copy of the application.
Once approved, the funds will be paid directly to the vendor (e.g., landlord, utility company, etc.) and not the applicant.
All program funding will expire on Dec. 31, or when available funds are exhausted.
Those with questions should contact the Community Services Office at 978-929-6651 or Community Services Coordinator Ducharme at lducharme@actonma.gov.
