BRIDGEWATER — Chief Christopher D. Delmonte reports that Bridgewater Police Detectives arrested a Bridgewater man Wednesday on possession of child pornography charges, following a month-long investigation.

KEVIN C. BENSON, AGE 50, of BRIDGEWATER, was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of Child Pornography
  • Distributing Material of a Child in the Nude
  • Distributing Material of a Child in a Sexual Act

BENSON is expected to be arraigned today in Brockton District Court.

On Wednesday, Sept. 11, at approximately 9 a.m., Bridgewater Police Detectives, with assistance from WEB Task Force Officers and members of the Massachusetts State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Unit, executed search and arrest warrants at BENSON’S residence.

Bridgewater Police Detectives are members of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigating child sexual abuse material.

The month-long investigation began when police received information that BENSON was allegedly in possession of and distributing child sexual abuse material. Bridgewater Police ICAC investigators received a cyber tip regarding a social media account possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material files.

BENSON was taken into custody without incident and was transported to the Bridgewater Police Department for booking.

These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
