Acushnet Public Schools to Welcome New School Year With “Wildcat Era” Theme

Acushnet Public Schools are ushering in the new year with a “Learning Era” theme.

ACUSHNET — Superintendent Dr. Paula Bailey and Acushnet Public Schools are excited to announce that the district is taking a page out of Taylor Swift’s songbook and ushering in the new year with the “Wildcat Era: The Learning Tour” theme.

Inspired by Swift’s “Eras Tour,” which pays homage to her lengthy discography, Acushnet Public School’s “Wildcat Era” hopes to bring new energy to the school year.

“On behalf of Acushnet Public Schools, I welcome our students to a new school year filled with opportunities to grow, learn and succeed together,” Superintendent Bailey said. “Our journey ahead is bright, and I am honored to walk it with such a dedicated community of students, staff and families. Here’s to a year of ‘Fearless’ discovery, achievement and making lasting memories!”

The year will kick off with an exciting morning on the first day of school. Parents are invited to cheer on students as they enter the building at Ford Middle School from 7:45-8 a.m. and at Acushnet Elementary School from 8:45-9 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28.

Teachers will be wearing their “Wildcat Era” T-shirts, modeled after Swift’s “Eras Tour” merchandise.

“We hope our students and families will always remember their time at Acushnet schools as positive and loving,” said PreK Teacher Ashley Carvalho, who spearheaded the “Learning Tour” theme. “Yes, the main idea comes from Taylor Swift’s Eras, but the bigger picture is that we as a community are all in this era of learning, loving, building and growing as a whole. We need each other more than ever.”
