STOUGHTON — Chief Donna McNamara reports that the pedestrian, an 82-year-old Stoughton man, remains in the hospital for treatment of his injuries. The driver, a Brockton man, stayed on scene and is cooperating with police.
The crash is under investigation by the Stoughton Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section (CARS).
On Thursday, Aug. 22, at 6:14 p.m., Stoughton Police Department responded to Central Street, between Turnpike and Lincoln streets, after a report of a car striking a pedestrian.
Police closed Central Street between Turnpike and Lincoln streets.
The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to a Boston hospital.
