April Guinness Selected as New Curriculum Director for Mascoma Valley Regional School District

ENFIELD — Superintendent Amanda Isabelle is pleased to announce that April Guinness has been selected to serve as the new Curriculum Director for Mascoma Valley Regional School District. 

Guinness has held various positions and titles within the district for 21 years. She worked as a Mathematics teacher at Mascoma Valley Regional High School, Associate Principal and Athletic Director at Indian River School, and most recently as Interim Principal of Canaan Elementary School. 

Guinness also served as Mathematics Curriculum Coordinator at the High School from 2016 to 2021. In her role as coordinator, Guinness was responsible for curriculum and development, testing, and training. 

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from Plymouth State College, and a Master’s degree in Mathematics Education from Western Governors University. 

“As Curriculum Director, I hope to engage and guide our educators in enhancing our current programs and creating learning opportunities for our students,” Guinness said.

As Curriculum Director, she will lead the district in developing and implementing curriculum and instruction programs, manage federal grant programs to best serve the needs of students, report on local, state, and national assessment results, as well as lead professional development programs. 

“April is extremely well-rounded and has demonstrated great leadership through her work in the district. She has great knowledge of student and parent needs and expectations that she will bring to this new role,” said Superintendent Isabelle. “I am excited to see what April will achieve.”
