BARNSTABLE — Superintendent Sara Ahern is pleased to announce that Jason Conetta has been appointed as the new Principal of Barnstable High School.

Conetta began in the position on July 1.

Conetta most recently served as the principal of the Barnstable Intermediate school, a role he has held since 2022. Prior to this role, Conetta served as the Principal of East Middle School in Brockton for three years and Assistant Principal of Silver Lake Regional Middle School for four years. He also served a total of six years at Randolph High School as a mathematics teacher, dean of students and assistant headmaster.

“I am eager for Mr. Conetta to make the transition to our high school’s community,” said Superintendent Ahern. “He has been a phenomenal asset to the Intermediate School and has our students’ best interests at heart. I am confident that his experience makes him well prepared to help students at Barnstable High School thrive.”

Conetta holds a bachelor of arts degree in Human Development from Rivier College and a master of arts degree in School Administration from Emmanuel College.

“Becoming Principal of Barnstable High School has felt extremely gratifying,” said Principal Conetta. “Throughout my career, I have always strived to maintain a ‘Yes you can’ and ‘Don’t ever give up’ attitude. This is something I aim to bring to BHS students to give them a new outlook on life throughout their journeys.”
