Town of Groveland Announces Start of Curbside Compost Program in Partnership with Black Earth Compost

GROVELAND — The Town of Groveland shares that a curbside compost program will begin next week in collaboration with Black Earth Compost.

The program will begin on Wednesday, July 24, and aims to promote residential composting and help support waste reduction in town by reducing the volume of food scraps that enter the waste stream.

Black Earth Compost will collect bins on Wednesdays. Residents can sign up for weekly collection services for $114.99 every six months, or for every other week collection services for $89.99 every six months. Residents who enroll in the program will receive a voucher for a free bag of high-quality compost.

The goal of the program is to take food waste from residents and businesses, which makes up nearly 40 percent of our waste stream, and recycle those nutrients into high-quality compost to grow more food.

Residents who are interested in signing up for the program can register here
