Chief Daniel Valadas is proud to announce that the Ludlow Police Department has been awarded the prestigious FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Award. This award recognizes the dedication and accomplishment of several officers who completed the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Course.
FBI-LEEDA is the Law Enforcement Executive Development Association, a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation.
Ludlow Police Sgt. Brian Shameklis, Lt. David Irwin, Det. Lt. David Kornacki, Lt. Michael Brennan, Det. Sgt. Stephen Ricardi and Sgt. Sean Knox completed the training in June. This comprehensive leadership training consists of 120 hours (three weeks) in one-week separate phases: Supervisor, Command and Executive.
“The FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Course is a significant accomplishment, providing our officers with advanced leadership skills and best management practices designed specifically for law enforcement,” said Chief Valadas. “This training is a precursor to the esteemed FBI National Academy at Quantico, VA. I am extremely proud of our command staff and supervisory officers who completed this rigorous program.”
The training, hosted at various locations across New England over several years, included sessions at Westfield State University, the Wethersfield (Connecticut) Police Department, the South Portland (Maine) Police Department, the Barnstable (Massachusetts) Police Department, the Grafton (Massachusetts) Police Department, and the Chicopee (Massachusetts) Police Department.
“This award not only recognizes our officers’ hard work and dedication but also enhances our department’s ability to serve the community more effectively,” Chief Valadas said. “With the advanced leadership skills gained through this training, our officers are better equipped to handle complex situations, improve department operations and build stronger relationships with the community.”
Completing this training ensures that the Ludlow Police Department upholds the highest standards of law enforcement leadership. Residents can expect a department that is well-prepared, highly trained and committed to maintaining public safety.
The FBI-LEEDA organization created a uniform national standard for law enforcement leadership training, which is highly respected in the field. The skills and knowledge gained by the Ludlow police officers will benefit the community by enhancing the department’s leadership capabilities, promoting effective policing strategies, and fostering a safer environment for all residents.
