Dennis Police Report No Arrests at Any Town Beaches on Fourth of July

We would like to give our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make the Fourth of July at Dennis beaches safe and fun this year. We are happy to report that after the restrictions that were put into place at Mayflower Beach, Chapin Memorial Beach and Bayview Beach, there were no arrests or major incidents at any of Dennis’s beaches on July 4th.

Town Officials Thank Beachgoers for Successful Day

DENNIS —  The following is a statement from Dennis Police Chief John Brady and Town Administrator Elizabeth Sullivan:

“We would like to give our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make the Fourth of July at Dennis beaches safe and fun this year.

We are happy to report that after the new restrictions that were put into place this year at Mayflower Beach, Chapin Memorial Beach and Bayview Beach, there were no arrests or major incidents at any of Dennis’s beaches on July 4th.

While they were all full yesterday, the atmosphere and spirit at the beaches were markedly different than in years past. We saw a refreshing return to the family-friendly and welcoming atmosphere Dennis beaches are known for.

Town officials will be meeting next week to further debrief on the day and go over the data in more depth. But the initial feeling is that yesterday was a tremendous success and we owe it to the members of the Dennis Police Department, Town of Dennis employees, residents and beachgoers who all contributed to making it a truly great day.”
