*UPDATE #2* Taunton Police Provide Additional Information About Stabbing Incident on Paul Bunker Drive

TAUNTON — Chief Edward Walsh is providing additional information regarding a stabbing incident involving multiple individuals on Paul Bunker Drive yesterday afternoon.

TAUNTON — Chief Edward Walsh is providing additional information regarding a stabbing incident involving multiple individuals on Paul Bunker Drive yesterday afternoon.

CYE KEY, AGE 24, OF TAUNTON was placed under arrest following the incident and was charged with:

  • Home Invasion
  • Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (Two Counts)
  • Possession of a Class B Substance (Crack Cocaine)

KEY was arraigned Wednesday morning at Taunton District Court and was held pending a dangerousness hearing on a date to be determined. He also had outstanding warrants for his arrest from previous incidents.

At about 1:20 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, Taunton Police responded to Paul Bunker Drive for a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located three Taunton men, ages 19, 21 and 21, who had been injured. The three victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment. KEY was also transported to an area hospital to be treated for minor injuries from the altercation.

Through the subsequent investigation, police determined that KEY had allegedly entered an apartment armed with a hammer and a large knife and began attacking the victims. The investigation determined that the incident resulted from an argument the night before.

These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
