
RAYNHAM — Chief David LaPlante, on behalf of the Raynham Police Department, is pleased to announce the promotion of four officers this week.
Lieutenants Jeffrey Crandall and William Donnelly and Sergeants Joshua O’Brien and Edward Fallo were sworn in by Raynham Town Clerk Marsha Silvia on Tuesday, June 11.
“I want to congratulate each of our officers on their accomplishments. They have all worked incredibly hard to reach this point,” said Chief LaPlante. “These promotions complete the command staff, enabling us to continue moving forward and creating an environment that inspires trust, teamwork and to strive for continuous, measurable improvement while accomplishing the Department’s mission.”
Lieutenant Jeffrey Crandall began his career at the Raynham Police Department in March 2003 as a Patrolman, and was promoted to Patrol Sergeant in July 2010.
During his time as Patrol Sergeant, Crandall continued to grow as a leader. He is the Department’s Accreditation Manager and has recently become certified as an Accreditation Assessor. Sergeant Crandall’s commitment to personal and professional growth is evident in his academic achievements. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminology in 1998 and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice in 2010. He has recently also earned his MPI Executive Development Certification.
Lieutenant William Donnelly began his career at the Raynham Police Department in July 1997 as a Special Police Officer and has worked full-time since 2001. In July 2004, he was assigned to the Detective Unit. In October 2015, he was promoted to Sergeant and continued his work as a Detective.
Lieutenant Donnelly’s leadership skills have been honed through his various roles. He has served as the Detective Division Commander, a Commander of the Northern Bristol County Drug Task Force and is currently assigned to the SEMLEC Detective Unit. Donnelly earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1997, and in 2002, he earned a Master of Science in Criminal Justice. He earned the FBI / LEEDA Trilogy Award for Leadership in 2022 and the MPI Executive Development Certification.
Sergeant Joshua O’Brien began his career at the Raynham Police Department in January 2015. O’Brien has continued to grow as a police officer and a leader, and in January 2017, he became a Field Training Officer. He was a member of the Union Executive Board from January 2017 to December 2023, holding a position as president for a portion of his time on the Board.
Sergeant O’Brien demonstrates his commitment to his personal and professional growth throughout his career, earning an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice in May 2019, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice in January 2021, and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice in 2022.
Sergeant Edward Fallo’s career began at the Raynham Police Department in November 1996 as a Police Officer. Throughout his career, he was assigned to various patrol shifts, often as the shift supervisor. Throughout his career, Fallo has taken on various roles and responsibilities that have honed his skills and prepared him for a leadership position. He has served as a Court Prosecutor, Assistant Evidence Officer, Primary Evidence Officer and Property Control Officer. From 2000 to 2016, he was a Field Training Officer, contributing to the development of new officers. His leadership abilities were further demonstrated during his tenure as the Union Secretary from 2003 to 2013 and as the Union President from 2013 to 2018.
Sergeant Fallo earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Law Enforcement in 2002 and earned a Master of Science in Criminal Justice in 2003.
