Wakefield Police and Fire Respond to Motor Vehicle Crash, Two Individuals Summonsed

WAKEFIELD – Police Chief Steve Skory and Fire Chief Michael Sullivan report that the Wakefield Police and Fire Departments responded to a motor vehicle crash which resulted in the summons of the individuals involved.  

On Wednesday, May 29, at approximately 1:01 p.m., Wakefield Police and Fire responded to the intersection of Salem Street and Chapman Road for a report of a two-car motor vehicle crash.  

Upon arrival, officers observed a white 2023 Toyota SUV had crashed into a fence along Chapman Road, and a black 2005 Toyota Corolla was located nearby. Both vehicles had significant damage. 

The driver of the white 2023 Toyota SUV was transported to an area hospital for his injuries. No other injuries were reported. 

A preliminary investigation determined that both individuals were originally driving northbound on I-95 before exiting the highway and proceeding into Wakefield. The driver of the white 2023 Toyota SUV was observed crossing marked lanes into oncoming traffic, resulting in the crash. The drivers may have been involved in some type of road rage incident that originated on the highway. 

The driver of the white Toyota SUV, a 33-year-old man of NASHUA, NH, is being summonsed to court and charged with:  

  • Driving to Endanger  
  • Marked Lanes Violation 

The driver of the black 2005 Toyota Corolla, a 38-year-old man of MARBLEHEAD, is being summonsed to court and charged with: 

  • Leaving the Scene of Property Damage 
  • Operating with a Suspended License  

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Wakefield Police Department.
