BOURNE — Bourne Public Schools Superintendent Kerri Anne Quinlan-Zhou and High School Principal Lisa Maguire are proud to announce that Bourne High School Drama will perform the Disney classic “Beauty and The Beast” this week.

The curtain went up last night, Thursday, May 16, at 7 p.m., at the Bourne High School Auditorium, with additional performances scheduled for Friday, May 17, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, May 18, at 2 p.m.

Tickets, which can be purchased ahead of time online, are $8 for students, $12 for seniors (65+), and $15 for adults.

“Beauty and the Beast is an enchanting tale about kindness, personal growth, and the search for a place to call Home,” said Tristan Burke, the show’s director. “Weaved into all of the music and spectacle is a profound and cautionary commentary on the way that we as a society treat those who are somehow different from ourselves. In a world where the material and the superficial are sometimes at the forefront, Beauty and the Beast provides a refreshing reminder to be true to ourselves and celebrate one another’s differences.”

The show stars Logan Broadway as The Prince/ Beast, Aspen Langley as Belle, Jay Gary as Gaston, Drake Hassett as Lefou, Justin Nee as Maurice, Madison Moore as Lumiere, Claire Koosa as Cogsworth, and Molly Lodge as Mrs. Potts. Click here to view the full cast list.

Student performers, designers and technicians have been rehearsing tirelessly since mid-March to bring Disney’s Beauty and the Beast to life, Burke said.
