MEREDITH — Inter-Lakes School District is pleased to share that Grade 7 students recently visited Cape Cod for their yearly trip.

48 students visited Camp Wingate Kirkland in Yarmouth from April 15-18, in collaboration with Nature’s Classroom. Students traveled to Chapin Beach, Coast Guard Beach, The Atlantic White Cedar Swamp, and The National Seashore.

During the trip, students observed and explored the area by studying tidal marshes, the seashore, and the harbors. Students also learned about the impact of climate change on the seashores.

For over 20 years, Inter-Lakes seventh graders have visited Cape Cod to participate in an interactive educational trip.

“The Cape Cod trip is a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn about nature and work together with their peers outside of a regular classroom setting,” said Grade 7 science teacher Rachel Bartlett, who coordinated the trip. “Our students really look forward to going on this trip and their excitement when we finally got there was great to see.”

“I am pleased that we had another successful trip to Cape Cod for our Grade 7 students,” said Principal Amanda Downing. “I would like to thank the Nature’s Classroom organization for partnering with us again this year. I would also like to thank Rachel for coordinating this trip. It was great to see students’ excitement as they geared up for the Cape. We look forward to being able to offer this again next year.”
