Two ConVal High School Students Awarded Scholarships for Immersive German Study Program

PETERBOROUGH — Superintendent Kimberly Rizzo Saunders and Principal Heather McKillop are pleased to share that two ConVal High School students have been awarded scholarships for an immersive German study program.

Sophomores Evan Kelley and Adeline Regis were awarded all-expenses-paid scholarships through the Goethe Institut for an immersive study program in Karlsruhe, Germany.

Kelley and Regis are enrolled in German 3, the highest German Language class in ConVal High School, and were awarded scholarships based on their exceptional proficiency and hard work. Students also had to fill out an application and create a video introducing themselves to be selected.

During the three-week-long immersion program, students will be staying with host families in Germany and will participate in German language classes and cultural activities.

This opportunity is made possible through the PASCH program, which partners with schools and the Goethe Institut to provide experiences and scholarships for students who study the German language. ConVal is one of only 14 schools in the U.S., directly supported by the Goethe Institut. As a PASCH school, ConVal is part of a huge network of partner schools all over the world that promote the German language and culture.

“I am extremely proud of our students who were awarded these scholarships and now have an opportunity to travel to Germany for this incredible immersion program,” said Principal McKillop. “I would like to thank the Goethe Institut and the PASCH program for their partnership. I am excited for our students to travel the world, experience new cultures, and make lasting memories through learning.”
