NEWPORT — Chief Travis Bingham reports that the Newport Police Department arrested and charged a man with Conditions of Release Violation and Resisting Arrest.
TUCKER JACOBS, AGE 27, of NEWPORT, was arrested and charged with:
- Receiving Stolen Property
- Violation of Conditions of Release
- Resisting Arrest
On Wednesday, April 17, at approximately 5:18 p.m., officers received a report that a vehicle was parked in the driveway of an apartment complex that was not supposed to be there.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the driver of the vehicle. The passenger, determined to be JACOBS, had gone into the building. An initial investigation determined that JACOBS was in violation of a court-ordered curfew.
While officers were approaching the apartment, JACOBS ran out of the apartment on foot and was taken into custody on Centreal Street a few blocks away.
Vermont State Police and Orleans County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the apprehension of JACOBS.
JACOBS is being held on $10,000 bail and is expected to be arraigned in Orleans District Court on Thursday.
