WHITMAN — Police Chief Timothy Hanlon and Fire Chief Timothy Clancy report that the Whitman Police and Fire Departments responded after a vehicle crashed into an apartment building Monday morning.
On Monday, April 15, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Whitman Police and Fire Departments received a 911 reporting that a car had crashed into a building at 412 South Ave. Upon arrival, first responders found an SUV that struck the corner of an apartment building.
The driver and sole occupant of the SUV was transported by a Whitman Fire ambulance to an area hospital to be treated for his injuries. There were no other reported injuries.
The Building Inspector also responded to the scene to check the integrity of the structure.
The driver, a 42-YEAR-OLD MAN, of EAST WAREHAM, will be summonsed into court and charged with:
- Marked Lanes Violation
- Operating Under the Influence of Drugs
- Possession of a Class A Substance
- Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Whitman Police Department.
