BROOKLINE — The Brookline Conservation Commission and Open Space Plan Committee would like to invite community stakeholders to help the Town shape the 2025 Open Space Plan during a series of listening sessions.
Three hybrid meetings will provide an opportunity for community members to offer input, share issues, and discuss opportunities with regard to parks, nature sanctuaries and other open spaces in Brookline.
Meetings will be held across Town to increase community access and participation:
- Monday, April 8, 7 p.m., Baker School, 205 Beverly Road
- Monday, May 6, 7 p.m. Town Hall, Room 111, 333 Washington St.
- Thursday, May 23, 7 p.m., Brookline Senior Center, 93 Winchester St.
Those who cannot attend in person are encouraged to join via Zoom, by following the registration links on the Open Space Plan webpage.
The meetings will include a short introduction and informational session on the existing Open Space Plan, published in 2018, including what it is, how it is utilized, and why it needs to be updated. An open discussion will follow so that the Open Space Plan Committee may hear the community’s desires, concerns, and ideas as it pertains to the 2025 update.
“We are excited to kick off this important public process,” Parks and Open Space Director Alexandra Vecchio said. “Brookline’s open spaces are critical to the health, sustainability, and livability of our community and this Plan provides an important opportunity to set ambitious goals to further mitigate the threats to our natural areas and enhance the benefits they provide to our community.”
All residents are welcome to attend. For further information, please visit the Open Space Plan webpage or call Conservation Administrator Tom Brady, at 617-730-2088.
