East Bridgewater Police Charge Juvenile with Making Threats at the High Road School Wednesday Afternoon, Threat Deemed Not Credible

EAST BRIDGEWATER — Chief Michael Jenkins reports that the East Bridgewater Police Department arrested and charged a juvenile who allegedly made threats at the High Road School of Massachusetts, located on Pleasant Street, today.

A JUVENILE MALE was arrested and charged with Making Terroristic Threats to a School.

On Wednesday, April 3, at 1:46 p.m., a High Road School of Massachusetts employee reported to the School Resource Officer that a student claimed to have a firearm in his possession. It was also reported by the school employee that a firearm was not seen and the student was isolated in a separate room.

All on-duty East Bridgewater Police personnel immediately responded to the school as students and staff were evacuating the building.

Officers spoke with the JUVENILE MALE and determined through an on-scene investigation that he did not have a firearm or any other weapon in his possession. He was arrested without incident.

Police determined that the threat was not credible and at no time were students, faculty or staff in danger.

The juvenile was transported to East Bridgewater Police Department and will be arraigned at Brockton Juvenile Court at a later date.

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
