NEW LONDON — Superintendent Winfried Feneberg and Principal Charles Langille are pleased to announce that Nevaeh Willey has been named Kearsarge Regional High School’s Student of the Month for March.
The Student of the Month is selected by the Kearsarge faculty from a pool of nominated students. This honor is in recognition of the student’s positive conduct and character, both on and off campus, and is an acknowledgment of the individual’s positive moral character and contributions to the school community.
Rebecca Schrader, a counselor at Kearsarge Regional High School, said, “What truly sets Nevaeh apart is her unwavering positive attitude and kindness towards others. She greets each day with enthusiasm, and her optimism is infectious. Nevaeh embodies the values of respect, empathy, and integrity, making her a role model for peers and underclassmen alike.”
Other faculty, including school nurses and counselors, also share their appreciation for Willey’s positive outlook and kindness.
Willey, a senior who lives in Warner, adds, “I feel like my largest contribution to the school is trying to be kind to everyone. I’ve been humbled in life with challenges and recognize that you don’t always know what other people are going through. It’s because of this that I intentionally try to be kind to everyone around me. Saying ‘hi’ to someone, assuming positive intentions, and taking a moment to get to know someone isn’t easy in high school, but it’s how I try to approach every day. I know from experience that being on the receiving end of a kind act can make a big difference in somebody’s day, and I try to provide that for others.”
Willey attributes her growth as a student and discovery of her interests in veterinary sciences to taking Chemistry and Anatomy and Physiology courses taught by Mary Wright.
She also thanks school nurses Melissa Harris and Carrie Guerrette, and graphic arts teacher Nichole Valerio for their kindness and support.
After graduation, Willey plans to take a gap year, then attend Great Bay Community College’s Veterinary Technician program. She plans to complete this licensure program and continue her education in the field of veterinary sciences while working as a licensed Veterinary Technician.
