MANSFIELD – Superintendent Teresa Murphy, Head Football Coach Michael Redding, and Athletic Director Tim Selmon are pleased to recognize six Mansfield High School senior football players, three of whom have been selected for the National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete Award, and three others selected to play in the Shriner’s All-Star Classic Football Game.

Shriner’s All-Star Classic Football Game

Seniors Aidan Gleavy, Logan Pereira and Colin Gill were selected to play in the Shriner’s All-Star Classic Game, which will take place on Friday, June 14 at 7 p.m. at Bentley University in Waltham.

The Shriner’s All-Star Classic Football Game is an annual event co-sponsored by the Massachusetts High School Football Coaches Association and the Aleppo Shriners of Massachusetts.

Each year, after being nominated by their coaches, standout graduating high school senior athletes are selected to play in the game. All proceeds from the game are donated to the Shriner’s Hospital in Boston.

All three selected seniors have previously been named to the Hockomock League All-Star Team, with Gleavy also being named to the Sun Chronicle All-Star Team and Gill earning the Brandon Bullsworth Character Award.

National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete Award

Team captains and multi-sport athletes Connor Curtis, Wyatt Bolduc and Brandon Jackman will be presented with the National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete Award during an awards ceremony on Sunday, June 23 at the Sheraton Hotel in Framingham.

The National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete Award, presented by the Eastern Massachusetts chapter of the National Football Foundation, recognizes outstanding student-athletes for their academic excellence, football performance and community service.

“Curtis, Bolduc and Jackman are three of 26 athletes, chosen from a pool of 200 applicants, to be receiving the award,” said Coach Redding. “Mansfield High School was the only institution with three students to earn the award.”

Last year Mansfield High School had three seniors selected for this award and was the only high school in the state with three selections.

Throughout his career at Mansfield High School, Curtis has been named to the Hockomock League All-Star Team, the Hockomock Sports.com All-Star Team, and the Sun Chronicle All-Star Team. He has previously earned the Matthew O’Leary Sportsmanship Award, the Boston Globe All-Scholastic Award, and was recognized as a Massachusetts Coaches Division III All-Star Honorable Mention.

While attending Mansfield High School, Jackman was named to the Hockomock League All-Star Team, the Hockomock Sports.com All-Star Team, the Sun Chronicle All-Star Team, and the Massachusetts Coaches Division III All-Division Team. He has previously earned the Boston Globe All-Scholastic Award and the Nick Rossi Most Valuable Player Award.

Throughout his career at Mansfield High School, Bolduc played four years of football and earned the Tom Souza Scholar-Athlete Award as a senior member of the football program this year. This spring, he will serve as a captain of the baseball program. He has participated in the baseball program for four years.

“We are incredibly proud of our student-athletes and thrilled by the recognition they’ve received this year,” Superintendent Murphy said. “These students work hard to serve as examples for their peers both inside and outside the classroom and we are proud to have them represent Mansfield High School.”
