UPTON – Superintendent Maureen Cohen, World Language Department Chair Tricia Moloney, and Spanish Immersion Teacher Ana Soto are pleased to share that Nipmuc Regional High School recently hosted Spanish Exchange Program students.
Nipmuc Regional High School hosted Spanish Exchange Program students from the Divina Pastora School in León, Spain, from Dec. 3-19.
During this visit, 27 students had the opportunity to live with local host families and shadow Nipmuc students through their daily lives, while learning about the history and culture of the U.S.
The Nipmuc Regional High School community also hosted activities for exchange students and their host families, including pizza parties, bowling, and field trips to Fenway Park, Old Sturbridge Village, the Natick Mall, and Hebert Candy Mansion, fostering strong connections.
The visit concluded with a goodbye potluck dinner on Dec. 18 at the Nipmuc High School cafeteria.
“I would like to thank Sra. Soto for her hard work in organizing this program once again this year, and all of our host families and students for opening their homes,” said Superintendent Cohen. “This program is a wonderful way for our students to experience a different culture in alignment with the District’s Portrait of a Learner. In learning about different experiences and cultures our students are on the path to becoming true global citizens.”
