MEREDITH — The Inter-Lakes School District invites community members to participate in updating the Strategic Plan, beginning with a community event scheduled for Dec. 14.
Strategic plans act as a compass direction for the District to follow during a multi-year period, highlighting specific projects and goals for long-term growth. The District hopes to present an updated Strategic Plan for presentation to the School Board in June 2024.
“A Strategic Plan is an important tool in the District’s continued success,” Superintendent Mary Moriarty said, “We need the minds and voices of our greater school community to inform the next iteration of our plan, so that we can achieve our shared vision for our students.”
The community event will be held on Thursday, Dec. 14, from 5-8:30 p.m. at Inter-Lakes Middle/High School, 1 Laker Lane. The Class of 2027 will prepare a spaghetti dinner for attendees, while the Class of 2025 will hold a silent auction. Those interested in attending are asked to register here, or call Heather Bullimore, Administrative Assistant, at 603-279-7947, ext. 6.
The evening will begin with school highlights and an overview of the District’s vision, mission, and core beliefs.
Participants then will work with facilitators in one of five areas: teaching and learning; finance and operations; wellness; climate and culture; and parent and community engagement.
Middle/High School Principal Amanda Downing and the Principal Advisory Council will will work with participants on developing a Vision of a Graduate as part of accreditation review by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
Community members who cannot attend on Dec. 14 are asked to share feedback through an online survey no later than Dec. 12.
The District is also seeking community members to actively participate by participating on the Strategic Plan Steering Committee or a subcommittee. Community membership is open to stakeholders in Center Harbor, Meredith and Sandwich.
All Steering Committee and subcommittee meetings will be open the public. Meeting dates will be announced in the coming weeks. All information related to the Strategic Planning process will be accessible through the District website under Strategic Planning.
