NEW LONDON — Superintendent Winfried Feneberg is pleased to announce Kearsarge Regional High School’s November Student of the Month.
Rose Patrick, a junior from Wilmot, was selected for the honor based on nominations from school staff and faculty. Patrick is described as a kind-hearted individual who goes above and beyond for her peers.
“Rose is a delightful, kind, and compassionate student that is always willing to help out around the school and support her peers,” said Kearsarge School Counselor Rebecca Schrader. “Rose embodies a passion for learning motivated by her curiosity and desire to challenge herself.”
Students of the Month are selected by Kearsarge faculty from a pool of nominated students. This honor is in recognition of the student’s positive conduct and character, both on and off campus, and is an acknowledgment of an individual’s positive moral, character, and their contributions to the school community.
Patrick is a member of the KRHS Fiber and Textiles Club, the Environmental Club, Women’s Advocacy Club, and a member of the National Honors Society. Patrick also actively participates in the KRHS Tea Club.
“Rose has joined and is an active part of several clubs,” said Kearsarge Art Teacher Taylor Balla. “She took initiative for the Tea Club and created an activity for the group to make their own tea blend. All materials for creating the blends have been grown and would be harvested from her own garden. Rose also participates with the Women’s Advocacy club and last year she led a fundraiser to raise goods to send to those in need. She is an incredible individual, and well deserving of this recognition.”
Patrick has a passion for history, books, and art.
After high school, Patrick plans to attend college in the United Kingdom to study library science and becoming an Archivist.
“There are several schools in the U.K. that would allow me to combine my love of books, history, conducting research and working with people to learn new things,” said Patrick. “My father is from the U.K., and I also have family there that would make it a great place to live and learn.”
