SOMERSET — Chief Todd Costa and the Somerset Police Department are excited to announce the extension of its No Shave November initiative until March 1 in support of Cops for Kids with Cancer.
This year, Somerset Police Department members participating in the initiative will remain exempt from the department’s facial hair restrictions until March 1 to help raise additional funds.
Officers participating in the fundraiser must donate a minimum of $200 and are encouraged to collect donations from friends, family and local businesses.
Community members who wish to donate can do so on the Cops for Kids with Cancer website, send a check made payable to Cops for Kids with Cancer to the Somerset Police Department (465 County St.), or can send a Venmo payment to @Somerset_Police.
Cops for Kids with Cancer offers assistance to families who have children battling cancer by providing financial support to remove certain burdens relating to medical care.
The funds are directly donated to Cops for Kids with Cancer by the Somerset Police Department. Last year, the department donated $8,000 to the organization.
