Uxbridge Public Schools Selected to Participate in Educational Technology Peer Learning Cohort

UXBRIDGE — Superintendent Michael Baldassarre and Director of Technology and Digital Learning Jessica Brittingham are pleased to share that Uxbridge Public Schools was recently selected to participate in the Educational Technology (EdTech) Peer Learning Cohort.

UXBRIDGE — Superintendent Michael Baldassarre and Director of Technology and Digital Learning Jessica Brittingham are pleased to share that Uxbridge Public Schools was recently selected to participate in the Educational Technology (EdTech) Peer Learning Cohort.

The EdTech Peer Learning Cohort is a year-long collaborative program that focuses on leveraging educational technology to create affirming learning environments in which all students are able to engage in deeper learning.

Uxbridge was one of 12 districts/school systems selected by DESE to participate.

DESE and The Learning Accelerator (TLA) developed the EdTech Systems Guide in response to an increase in virtual learning following the COVID-19 pandemic, to support school leaders in choosing, evaluating, and implementing educational technology.

The EdTech team collaboratively identified the development of digital skills as a primary focus for the year-long work.

TLA will collaborate with Uxbridge Public Schools to tackle meaningful challenges by refining the use of specific technologies, centering digital equity, and showcasing best practices around technology integration in alignment with the district’s goals.

Beginning in October, the EdTech Peer Learning Cohort meets twice monthly, once a month as a team, and once a month with the district coach, from the TLA. Additionally, the cohort will meet three times per year with teams from 11 other districts throughout the state to discuss educational technology and problems of practice.

The Uxbridge team consists of Team Chair Jessica Brittingham, Assistant Superintendent Karen Dwyer, Uxbridge High School Principal Michael Rubin, Uxbridge High School teachers Corey Guerra and Casandra Knauer, Whitin Intermediate School teachers Lisa McLaughlin, Gail Williams, and Cayce Pappas, and Taft Early Learning Center teachers Alison Scagnelli and Amanda Gallerani.

“I would like to thank Director of Technology and Digital Learning Jessica Brittingham for spearheading this initiative,” said Superintendent Michael Baldassarre. “This program gives school administration the opportunity to implement the best educational technology practices into our district and to provide our students with opportunities to engage in deeper learning.”
