MATTAPOISETT — Superintendent Michael S. Nelson and Old Rochester Regional High School Principal Michael Devoll are pleased to announce that the Old Rochester Regional High School Drama Club had a successful showing of ‘Romeo and Juliet.’
On Thursday, Nov. 16, Friday, Nov. 17, Saturday, Nov. 18, and Sunday, Nov. 19, the Old Rochester Regional High School Drama Club presented its performance of ‘Romeo and Juliet’ to members of the community at the Old Rochester Regional High School Auditorium.
Under the direction of Director Maxx Domingos, and Assistant Director Sarah Whinnem, the play featured Aiden Silk as Romeo, Reese Souza as Juliet, and a large ensemble of 58 cast and crew.
‘Romeo and Juliet’ by William Shakespeare tells the story of an age-old vendetta between two powerful families that erupts into bloodshed. A group of masked Montagues risk further conflict by gatecrashing a Capulet party. A young lovesick Romeo Montague falls instantly in love with Juliet Capulet, who is due to marry her father’s choice, the County Paris.
“I want to congratulate the Old Rochester Regional High School Drama Club for its performance of Romeo and Juliet,” said Superintendent Nelson. “The show was a great success and I would like to recognize each of the students, staff, and volunteers who worked so hard to make this possible.”
“Congratulations to the cast and crew of Romeo and Juliet,” added Principal Devoll. “Each year we are impressed by the talent of our drama club students. It is a pleasure to recognize them for their dedication and hard work.”
