CARVER — Chief Marc Duphily reports that the Carver Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash into a gas station on Tuesday afternoon, and that a driver involved will be summonsed to court to face charges.

On Tuesday, Nov. 21, at approximately 2:30 p.m., the Carver Police Department was called to the Nouria gas station at 303 Tremont St., by a 911 call reporting that a vehicle struck a guardrail and the back of the gas station building.

Officers arrived to discover a roughly 6-foot hole in the back of the gas station’s wall, and that the driver involved had fled the scene.

A Massachusetts State Police Trooper who was at the gas station at the time followed the suspect driver down the street, where she eventually stopped.

The driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries, and was not arrested at the scene. She will be summonsed to court at a later date to face charges that will include Operating Under the Influence and Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident. Additional charges are likely.

There were no other reported injuries.
