HAMPTON — Superintendent Lois Costa and Principal Nathan Saddler are pleased to announce that the Marston School honored the significant contributions of veterans and active-duty military members at the annual Veterans Assembly last week.

On Thursday, Nov. 9, a total of 75 special guests, most of whom are veterans, attended the annual Veterans Assembly that’s been held for over two decades.

Students in the band and chorus performed patriotic songs, including the National Anthem, Our Country Tis of Thee and America the Beautiful with the instruction of Music Teacher Gus Carlson. The students also presented poems and stories to veterans in the audience and prepared artwork for them to take home.

“I am blown away by how much love the students put out for our Veterans,” said Principal Saddler. “Anytime we can bring in real veterans to honor, recognize and celebrate, it makes the connection between what we are learning in school and what Veterans Day is really about more meaningful and tangible for our students.”
