Berkshire Countywide Professional Development Day is an annual event organized by BERK12 that works to address the needs of local school districts with a collaborative approach, pooling resources and building cross-district educator networks.

Approximately 1,200 educators, administrators, and faculty from local school districts have registered to attend a variety of workshops throughout the day. There will be more than 55 workshops offered, covering specializations in math, history, science, English language arts, world languages, data-driven instruction, nursing skills, band instrument repair, using Google slides, practicing mindfulness, and many more.

Lenox Memorial Middle High School will be hosting a large number of these workshops, as well as the opening keynote address on “Confronting Hatred and Bias in our Schools and Communities,” presented by Attorney Richard Cole, former Assistant Massachusetts Attorney General and current Advisor to the Anti-Defamation League.

Workshops will be presented by several educators from across Berkshire County, with assistance from several of BERK12’s community partners including Berkshire Community College, Williams College, MCLA, Bard College at Simons Rock, the Berkshire County Historical Society, the BSO, the Berkshire Innovation Center, the Hancock Shaker Village, the Anti-Defamation League, and USTA Western Mass.
