HAVERHILL – Whittier Tech will host two alumni events in the coming weeks to celebrate the school’s 50th anniversary year.
On Friday, Oct. 27, alumni are invited to gather at Mission Oak Grill, 26 Green St., Newburyport, from 6-8 p.m. Appetizers will be served.
On Sunday, Nov. 19, Whittier will host a free beginner yoga class on the football field from 9-10 a.m. Light morning refreshments will be served. Attendees have the option of walking the track.
At both events, alumni may learn more about the District’s ongoing building project. Whittier Tech is pursuing construction of a new building to best provide a 21st century technical education to students, helping them join the workforce in emerging careers.
The current building was opened in 1973, and its last significant renovation was a roof replacement in 2007.
The school proposal will be voted upon during a districtwide referendum on Jan. 23, 2024.
Alumni interested in registering for an event or learning more about the building project may visit Whittier Tech Building Project website here.
