Pre-registration is Required by Oct. 24 to Reserve Pumpkin
MARION — Town Administrator Geoffrey Gorman, Council on Aging Director Karen Gregory and Program Coordinator Linda Jackvony, and Recreation Department Director Scott Tavares invite community members to attend Marion’s second annual Pumpkin Palooza event.

Cushing Community Center, 465 Mill St.
WHAT:
Marion community members are invited to spend the afternoon carving pumpkins to help create a pumpkin display to light up Route 6 for the Halloween weekend.
Pumpkins, carving stations, tools and tea lights will be provided. Community members are also able to bring their own carved pumpkin to add to the display. Those who wish to participate can call 508-748-3570. Pre-registration is required by Oct. 24 to reserve a pumpkin.
At the event community members will also be able to enjoy music and activities, including yard games from the MAC (Marion Art Center), face painting, a petting zoo and balloon animals. Volunteers from the Marion Public Library will have a craft activity available for younger children. Marion Police and Fire will also be on hand with apparatus and “Sparky the Fire Dog.” Guests will receive goody bags, courtesy of the Marion Police Department, and Marion Cub Scout Pack 32 will be passing out candy.
Refreshments will be available, including hot chocolate and donuts donated by Dunkin’, and food and ice cream for purchase from the Oxford Creamery Oxcart.
The event is family-friendly and open to all ages. Those who attend are highly encouraged to wear Halloween costumes!
Attendees are also encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for the Marion Food Pantry.
The event is sponsored by the Marion Council on Aging and Recreation Department, the Friends of the Marion Council on Aging and the Friends of Marion Recreation. The Town of Marion would like to thank Arne Johnson and the Fieldstone Farm Market for helping with the acquisition of pumpkins, the Marion Dunkin’ and its team, and Liz Ackerman and the Oxford Creamery.
