Milan Village hosted the annual Woods Day on Oct. 10. Students were able to speak with and learn from a variety of presenters throughout the day.
Presenters were professionals from across Coos County who shared information with students about wildfires, tree identifications and various things about the North County woods.

- Coos County Conservation District Manager, Whitney Lewis, who helped organize the event.
- Forest and Lands Fire Warden, Pete Donovan, who spoke to students about Wildfire safety.
- Town of Milan Fire Department, Captain Norman Frechette, who spoke to students about Wildfire Safety.
- UNH Cooperative Extension, Field Specialist and Coos County Forester, Ray Berthiaume, who spoke with students about tree identification using different color leaves.
- UNH Cooperative Extension, 4-H Healthy Living Specialist as part of Barry Conservation Camp, Andy Schafermeyer, who taught students about fur and how to handle animal skin.
