BOURNE — Superintendent Kerri Anne Quinlan-Zhou would like to remind community members to attend next week’s second annual resource fair sponsored by the Bourne Public Schools Building Bridges Family Engagement Program and featuring nearly 50 local groups and organizations.
The resource fair will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 27 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Bourne High School, located at 75 Waterhouse Road.
The second annual resource fair will provide Bourne Public Schools families and residents with access and information to a variety of vital resources provided by the district and local community groups.
“Building Bridges,” led by Bourne Public Schools PreK-5 Curriculum Director Lisa Dix, connects stakeholders — including students and their families — to important services available to them locally. These resources include youth and family recreation, assistance with nutrition, housing and clothing, wellness and mental health services, safety, education and more.
Any community resource organization or group that would like to participate in the fair is asked to contact Dix at ldix@bourneps.org and the district will respond with additional details.
“This community resource fair is a great way for our students, families and schools to connect with the greater Bourne community,” said Superintendent Quinlan-Zhou. “Through our District Strategic Strategy’s first pillar of ‘Building Community,’ we aim to expand and strengthen our partnerships with community organizations and provide our students with learning opportunities both in and out of school.”
Any organization located in Bourne, or those that are utilized by Bourne residents, are welcome to participate.
“We hope to see many familiar faces and some new ones at the fair next week,” Dix said. “We’ll have nearly 50 community groups on hand to provide information and support to those who are interested or in need of services.”
