
NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH – Superintendent John Antonucci and Director of Student Services Margaret Camire are pleased to announce that Meaghan Toomey has been selected as the Interim Assistant Director of Student Services for North Attleborough Public Schools.
Toomey began in the position on Aug. 7.
“Ms. Toomey is an educational leader with a quiet yet impactful presence with a consistent eye towards identifying future opportunities to ensure more inclusive and equitable experiences for NAPS students and families,” said Director Camire. “I’m looking forward to working with Ms. Toomey this school year and I hope you all join me in that excitement.”
Toomey has over a decade’s worth of experience in education having most recently served as North Attleborough High School’s Team Chairperson and Curriculum Instructional Leader. In this role, she chaired all initial evaluations, reevaluations, extended evaluations and manifestation determination review meetings. She also collaborated with the administration and teachers to identify new and unique support opportunities for students among her other many other responsibilities.
Before her time in North Attleborough, Toomey worked as a Special Education Teacher and Special Education Liaison at Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School (SERSD). In her role as a Special Education Teacher, she participated in co-teaching models within the classroom to support students in math classes. Toomey also worked to maximize student potential by working collaboratively with general educators to develop a curriculum that supports all students while also constructing course materials to address students’ diverse learning needs and ability levels.
During her time as a Special Education Liaison, she ensured that all Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) met all regulatory and district standards and were written to reflect best practices and high-quality programming. Toomey also worked collaboratively with related service providers both internally and externally to ensure a broad continuity of services for all students. While serving in this role she held several leadership positions including New England Association of Schools and Colleges Co-Chair, New Teacher Training Co-Chair, Professional Development Committee Member and School Improvement Plan Committee Member.
As part of Toomey’s education career at SERSD, she also served as a Substitute Teacher and Paraprofessional.
Toomey received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bryant University and a Master of Education and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Educational Leadership in Special Education Administration from American International College. She also received an Educational Leadership certificate from Bridgewater State University.
