
ROCHESTER — Superintendent Michael S. Nelson is pleased to welcome Heidi Letendre as Interim Principal of Rochester Memorial School.
Letendre, who recently began in the role, was selected following a search and interview process that included contributions from stakeholders, community members, staff and administrators.
“It is my pleasure to welcome Heidi Letendre as Interim Principal of Rochester Memorial School,” Superintendent Nelson said. “Heidi brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in educational leadership and I am confident she will be a great leader for our Rochester Memorial School community.”
Letendre has served as a principal for the past 10 years. Most recently, she served as Principal of the John T. Nichols Jr. Middle School in Middleborough. During her time as Principal, she managed daily school operations as well as proactively changed the school schedule to best support student learning and teaching practices.
Letendre also held the position of Principal at the Memorial Early Childhood Center in Middleborough, George H. Mitchell Elementary School in Bridgewater, and Lillie B. Merrill Elementary School in Raynham.
Previously, Letendre served as Title 1 District Coordinator for the Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District, Assistant Principal at the George H. Mitchell Elementary School in Bridgewater, and Assistant Principal at Mary K. Goode School in Middleborough.
In addition to her administrative roles, Letendre has served as a third grade teacher and Educational Support Personnel, both at Central Elementary School in East Bridgewater. Throughout her professional career, she has also served on various school-based and district-based committees.
“It is a great honor for me to be appointed as the Interim Principal for the Rochester Memorial School,” Letendre said. “I am excited to be working in a school district that is known for its academic rigor and positive school culture. In addition, I am looking forward to sharing my love of educational leadership with the students, families, and faculty of Rochester Memorial School.”
“Heidi is a passionate educator and school administrator and we look forward to working with her to enhance the educational experiences for our Rochester Memorial students,” said Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning Shari Fedorowicz.
Letendre holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from Fitchburg State College and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Bridgewater State University. She has also completed coursework in a doctorate program through Northeastern University.
“Heidi has valuable experience in managing the operations at elementary and middle schools, as well as in supporting staff and building a positive school culture,” said Human Resource Manager Sue Cunningham. “We are excited to see the impact she will make in this role.”
