HAMPTON — Superintendent Lois Costa is pleased to share that the Southern District YMCA plans to hold an afterschool childcare program at Marston School this fall.

The Southern District YMCA plans to hold an afterschool childcare program for students in Kindergarten through Grade 5 (children born between Oct. 1, 2010, and Oct. 29, 2018) at the Marston School, 4 Marston Way. The program will be held Monday-Friday from 3-6 p.m., starting on Monday, Aug. 28 until Friday, June 14, 2024.

The program aims to nurture development by providing a safe and healthy place for children to learn fundamental skills, develop trusting relationships, and build self-esteem. The YMCA’s values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility are integrated into the program’s curriculum and activities.

The District encourages Hampton parents and guardians to check out the program and enroll their children if interested. The program will not be held if there are not enough participants enrolled.

There are three options available for parents interested in enrolling their children in the afterschool childcare program:

  • 1-2 days of childcare a week, at a rate of $50 per week
  • 3 days of childcare a week, at a rate of $75 per week
  • 4-5 days of childcare a week, at a rate of $102 per week.

A one-time fee of $50 is due at the time of registration. Those who are interested can register here

Financial assistance is available to ensure that all families can attend the program. Those who may be in need of financial assistance should contact the Southern District YMCA’s Child Care Registrar Nicole Fogarty at nicolef@sdymca.org

“We are thrilled that the YMCA will be offering the afterschool childcare program at the Marston School again this year,” said Superintendent Costa. “We encourage our Hampton School District parents who may be in need of childcare during the school year to check out this wonderful program that provides enrichment opportunities and fun activities for students after school hours.”

Those with questions regarding the afterschool childcare program should contact Anthony Panciocco, the Southern District YMCA’s Director of School Age Childcare, at 603-319-5942 or by email at anthony@sdymca.org.
