GLOUCESTER — Mayor Greg Verga and the City of Gloucester will welcome Boston 25’s Morning News on Friday, Aug. 4, as part of the “Zip Trip” tour.
On the “Zip Trip” circuit, Boston 25 brings news personalities to communities across eastern Massachusetts. Gloucester is the fifth of eight communities on this year’s tour.
The program will focus on Gloucester’s unique people, programs, and local institutions.
“There’s much more to Gloucester that you don’t see every day, and this is an exciting opportunity to highlight some of the incredible people, businesses, and hidden treasures of our remarkable City,” Mayor Verga said. “We are proud to show off all the amazing things that make our community what it is, especially as we commemorate our 400th anniversary. This is another chance for our residents to come together to celebrate our fantastic City.”
The show will broadcast on Aug. 4 from 6 to 10 a.m., from Stage Fort Park, 24 Hough Ave. Boston 25 personalities will interview Mayor Verga and others who play a big role in day-to-day Gloucester life.
Among those featured will be the Gloucester High School field hockey team and Gloucester High School’s Docksiders. Cape Ann Animal Aid will bring down adoptable pets, and The Open Door will set up its mobile market.
Parking is available at the Stage Fort Park lot located on Hough Avenue. Reservations are required for non-residents, and resident beach stickers are required for residents at the Stage Fort Park parking lot. “Gloucester is a welcoming community,” Mayor Verga said. “I invite residents and visitors to come down for the show at Stage Fort Park and hope they will decide to spend a day in our wonderful city.”
