EAST BRIDGEWATER — Town Manager Charles Seelig and Veterans’ Services Officer Chris Buckley are pleased to announce that the East Bridgewater Veterans’ Services Office is accepting applications for its veteran banner sponsorship program.
Families, friends and others may sponsor banners to honor current or former residents of East Bridgewater who served in any branch of the military. The banners will be installed in the central part of East Bridgewater during the fall before Veterans’ Day and during the spring before Memorial Day and the Fourth of July.
“For 200 years our veterans have been returning home from our country’s wars and we have honored them in many ways, such as through ceremonies and parades,” Buckley said. “The banners are another way for us to recognize the service and sacrifice of many generations of East Bridgewater’s veterans.”
The cost per banner is $109, with checks made payable to “Military Tribute Banners.” Submissions must include the honoree’s name, branch of service, rank, dates of service, major war(s) fought in (if any), and a photograph of the honoree.
Submissions should be sent to Chris Buckley, Veterans’ Services Officer, 175 Central St., East Bridgewater, MA 02333. To download a form, click here. Paper forms also are available at the Veterans’ Services Office in Town Hall.
Any submissions received by Tuesday, Aug. 15 will be included in this fall’s banner installation. Submissions received after Aug. 15 will be installed in the spring of 2024.
Questions can be directed to the Veterans’ Services Office at 508-378-1603.
