ACTON — Chief James Cogan reports that the Acton Police Department, thanks to assistance from the public, has identified a man who followed a woman from the South Acton MBTA station.

On Wednesday, June 14, at about 10:20 p.m., Acton Police were called to Central Street in the area of the commuter lot, for a report of a woman who was followed by an unknown man as she walked away from the South Acton MBTA station.

The man involved in the incident walked away when a neighboring homeowner told him he was calling the police.

Police subsequently searched the area but were unable to find anyone matching the description of the man or the vehicle he entered.

Acton Police launched an investigation to determine who the man was. Thanks to tips received from members of the public, police identified the man and have spoken to him.

The incident remains under investigation by the Acton Police Department, in consultation with the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
