ERROL – Superintendent David Backler and Principal Mary Fluette are pleased to announce that eighth-grader Riley Ward has graduated from Errol Consolidated School.
Ward, who has attended Errol Consolidated since Kindergarten, had the unique experience of being the only student in her grade for nine years.
Twelve students attended Errol Consolidated from Kindergarten through Grade 8 this year, making it the smallest K-8 school in New Hampshire. Sara Gray-Mackin teaches Kindergarten through Grade 4 and Principal Fluette teaches Grades 5-8.
Ward graduated on June 2, during a ceremony held at the Errol Town Hall. The ceremony included speeches from Principal Fluette and Ward’s Kindergarten through Grade 2 Teacher Kathy Urso, and the presenting of Ward’s diploma.
Ward will be attending Colebrook Academy and Elementary School in the fall.
“As you move on to high school, keep up the hard work, get involved, meet lots of people, make connections, be a risk taker, a critical thinker, stay patient and flexible, and be proud of who you are,” said Principal Fluette during the ceremony. “It is now time for you, Riley, the very patient, compassionate, respectful and a very mature young lady to go to high school. We wish you the very best and as Mrs. Mackin said, be sure to visit on those snow days because you know we are up to something exciting and fun. Good luck Riley.”
“I am looking forward to meeting new people and seeing what a big school is like,” said Ward. “I will miss the small school and the many advantages we have here.”
