Whitman-Hanson Regional High School Invites Community to 2023 Senior Art Showcase

Whitman-Hanson High School Library, 600 Franklin St., Hanson

WHAT: 

The Senior Spring Art Showcase will highlight Whitman-Hanson Regional High School (WHRHS) seniors Prescilla Laguerre, Ian Ashley and Emma Bartelamia as part of the Senior Spotlight Series.

Each of the three students plan to attend college after graduation and to continue to make art in the future. Laguerre plans study Neurology, Ashley plans to study
Graphic Design and Bartelamia plans on studying Criminal Justice.

“Congratulations to our senior artists,” said Maher. “It has been a pleasure to have these students in a variety of art classes over the past 4 years. I have had the privilege of watching them work hard to expand their artistic style and develop as artists.”

A total of eight students will have their artwork featured at the showcase event. Student artists have worked on many different types of artwork based on class assignments and individual, creative expression. The different forms of art include paintings, drawings, computer graphics, digital photography, video and ceramics. 

The showcase event will allow community members to view digital and traditional senior artist portfolios while enjoying musical performances by the high school music ensemble. WHRHS culinary students will provide dinner featuring a variety of pasta dishes.

Unique student-made ceramic plates will also be sold by Plates for Pantries, with all proceeds going to the Whitman-Hanson Food Pantry. 

“We couldn’t be more proud of our students participating in this year’s Senior Art Showcase. A special congratulations to our three students in this year’s senior spotlight! It’s truly amazing to see our students’ incredible artistic talent,” said Superintendent Szymaniak.

Each of the eight artists will be featured digitally each week leading up to the showcase.
