MILTON — Principal Suzanne Banach is pleased to announce that St. Mary of the Hills students and faculty attended this year’s Building Minds Scholarship Fund Celebration.
The 33rd annual Building Minds Scholarship Fund Celebration, presented by the Catholic Schools Foundation (CSF), was held on Thursday, April 27 at the Marriott Copley Place in Boston.
This year’s event honored Fidelity Manager Peter Lynch, who has led the fundraising efforts to raise millions of dollars for CSF for over 30 years. This year’s event also included the presentation of the Peter Lynch Award, which recognizes people and organizations that have made a transformative difference in the lives of CSF scholarship recipients.
The Catholic School Foundation works directly with St. Mary of the Hills School to provide students and families in grades K-8 with scholarship funding. This year, over 40 St. Mary’s students received scholarship funding from CSF.
“The Catholic School Foundation is an organization dear to our hearts,” said Principal Banach. “These scholarship programs have made a significant impact on the lives of our students and their families.”
Ten St. Mary’s students were also in attendance, serving as greeters throughout the event. Students in attendance also hosted a game show for the guests during the reception styled like “Are you Smarter than a Fifth Grader?” where they tested the knowledge of attendees.
The Catholic Schools Foundation assists families who wish to send their children to a Catholic school but are unable to afford tuition. CSF has distributed more than $100 million in scholarship aid to over 60,000 students over the past three decades. This work is made possible through two core scholarship programs, Elementary School Scholarships and CSF Scholars.
The Building Minds Scholarship Fund allows thousands of children in need to receive partial scholarships to attend Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Boston.
“It was a pleasure for us to have our students and staff attend this year’s Building Minds Scholarship Fund Celebration,” said Finance and Operations Manager Janice Powell. “It was a wonderful celebration and a great opportunity for our students to give back to the community.”
