HAMPTON — Superintendent Lois Costa is pleased to share that Hampton Academy welcomed Recycled Percussion, a group that’s achieved worldwide acclaim, for a special presentation late last month.

Recycled Percussion visited the school on Friday, March 24. The band spoke with students about the importance of spreading kindness and treating people as equals before putting on a short performance in their signature style — using junk as instruments.

Recycled Percussion gained national attention after competing on “America’s Got Talent.” They have performed more than 7,000 shows worldwide and have appeared on 40 popular TV shows, including the Grammy Awards, the Super Bowl, China’s Got Talent, and more.

In 2017, the band started its own TV show, “Chaos and Kindness”, which focuses on giving back to others and making a difference around the world. In each episode, viewers witness some of the outlandish and hilarious things the group is willing to do in the name of kindness.
