Hull High School Music, Art and Performing Arts Students Receive Recognitions

HULL — Superintendent Judith Kuehn and Principal Michael Knybel wish to recognize Hull High School music, art and performing arts students for honors received during the month of March.

HULL — Superintendent Judith Kuehn and Principal Michael Knybel wish to recognize Hull High School music, art and performing arts students for honors received during the month of March.

“I would like to congratulate all of our students on their incredible projects and performances last month,” said Principal Knybel. “Hull High School is full of talented students and I am so glad to see them receive the recognition they deserve.” 

Student honors are as follows:

Music Honors

Seniors Peter Menice and Matt Sullivan represented the Hull High School music program with their participation in the March Senior Southeastern Massachusetts School Bandmaster Association (SEMSBA) Music Festival Auditions at Middleboro High School. Menice went on to perform with the Festival Concert Band on Sunday, March 19.

Freshman Victor Healey also represented the Hull High School music program with his participation in the Southeastern Massachusetts School Music Educators Association Junior District Festival at Sharon High School.

Sophomore Stevie Ryan recently participated in the Bridgewater State University Honors Band. Stevie was selected to represent Hull High School by a recommendation of Band Director Ian Barkon and her willingness to work hard and volunteering her time to rehearse.

Arts Honors

Seniors Elizabeth Flattich-Breidenthal and Jacob Smith received Honorable Mention for their “The Earth Loves You. Love it Back.” Massachusetts Partnership for Youth (MPY) Poster Project. In total, there were 324 submissions from students from 47 school districts.

Performing Art Honors

Senior Lucia Foresta and Junior Shane Grier were awarded the Excellence in Actor/ Actor Awards in Dramatic Roles, presented by the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild following their performances in “and others…” at the Marshfield Theater Festival.

Senior Dahlia Hedrick was awarded the Excellence in Technical Design Award for Scientific Design, presented by the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild following her performance in “and others…” at the Marshfield Theater Festival.
