GORHAM – Superintendent David Backler and Principal Jen Corrigan are pleased to share that Gorham Middle High School hosted a successful job fair for students and local businesses.
Gorham Middle High School hosted a job fair on Wednesday March, 29, where students in grades eight through 12 had the opportunity to connect with 19 local businesses.
Approximately 170 students were in attendance and business representatives spoke to students about open positions, benefits, and how their businesses operate. Students prepared resumes and had the opportunity to ask questions and gain insight on businesses within their community.
“I would like to thank all of our local business partners who took the time to meet with our students and participate in our job fair,” said Principal Corrigan. “This event is a wonderful opportunity for students to connect with their community and learn about the different business that make up their community.”
“This was a great event for everyone involved and I am proud of our students for their participation and taking the initiative to speak with local businesses,” said School Counselor/School to Career Coordinator Matthew Saladino, who helped coordinate the event. “Students were able to gather valuable insight on jobs and potential careers. Events like these are important for students because it gives them the opportunity to not only interact with their community but find jobs that they have a real interest in.”
