LUDLOW — Chief Daniel Valadas reports that the Ludlow Police Department arrested and charged a Springfield man with possession with intent to distribute several drugs.

DAVID VADDY, AGE 22 of SPRINGFIELD, was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession with intent to distribute a Class A substance
  • Possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance
  • Possession with intent to distribute a Class D substance

On Saturday, March 25, at approximately 12:55 a.m., Ludlow Police conducted a routine motor vehicle traffic stop on Center Street. The vehicle had three occupants including a three-year-old child.

While conducting the traffic stop, officers learned that the operator, identified as VADDY, had an active warrant for his arrest. VADDY was arrested without incident.

During a subsequent search of the vehicle and VADDY’s person, officers found what appeared to be two bundles of a white powdery substance, later determined to be heroin, four baggies of rock-like substance, later determined to be crack, and 10 baggies which contained a fine white powder, later determined to be cocaine.

Officers also found approximately 28 bags of marijuana flower, six containers of liquid THC, and over $700 in cash.

The Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF) was contacted as a result of the initial investigation.

VADDY was arraigned in Palmer District Court on Monday.

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
